Wu-Tang Clan and Killa Beez
March 17, 2002
Omaha, NE
Sokol Auditorium

We entered the 36 chambers a little late that night. Just me forgetting tickets and shit. Well, we walked in while the Black Knights were in the middle of their set. It was surprisingly a small crowd for Wu-Tang. But then again, I have never been to Sokol and don't have any idea what the max. amount of people it holds. I would probably say there were about 2000 W's floatin' in the air, so 2000 people is a good estimate. They had balconies up above the main floor with seats but trust me, nobody was sitting. We spent some of the remaining Black Knights' set getting beer and finding a good place to enjoy the muthafuckin' ruckus. From what I heard, we missed Flava Flav, who was opening up the show. The Black Knights were the next first artists to perform and I didn't get to see if Holocaust was present or not. I knew he was absent from some previous shows but Ill never know. It's too fucking bad I missed so much of their set because from what I've heard, they got a pretty tight West-Coast sound going on. They haven't dropped any albums yet so most of the crowd was unfamiliar with them and mingled and smoked blunts instead of listening.

What happened next was most memorable. There was a minute or so pause while the DJ changed some shit around, and then BLAM StreetLife comes flying out of nowhere doing Triumph off Wu-Tang Forever. He did he own thing for a couple of songs and the crowd really started feeling it. U-God came out next and did material from his solo album, Golden Arms Redemption. Turbulence, I remember, was fucking louder than hell. The bass made my vision vibrate. Then, the DJ queued the sample. "The game of chess, is like a swordfight You must think first, before you move". I swear, everybody in that place yelled U-god's first couple lines back at him. "Raw I'ma give it to ya, with no trivia Raw like cocaine straight from Bolivia My hip-hop will rock and shock the nation like the Emancipation Proclamation." The most unique thing about concert is how one MC's verse ended and laid the ground for the next MC. So, RebelINS runs out next to do the follow up verse just like in the song. The concert progressed like this with the GZA, Raekwon, Masta Killa, and Ghostface. The show was a little fuzzy after Inpectah Deck came out, but I remember a lot of songs from Liquid Swords and 36 Chambers. When the RZA hit the stage, loud roars emitted from the audience. I was one of them. He was Bobby Digital the whole time. He really tried to promote the Sting and his new Digital Bullet album. He was up there the longest of any single member. He was the only one to interact with the crowd, complaining about how cold Nebraska is and how fine the Butter Pec's were. RZA got the crowd psyched and then introduced "The most popular man in show business, METHOD MAN".

So, Johnny Blaze runs out doing M-E-T-H-O-D man, climbing all over the monitors, which are about 8 or 9 feet tall. The entire Wu-Tang Clan came out after Meth's set and did 'Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuttin To Fuck Wit'. That was a crowd favorite and got everyone raising their W's. They played a lot of material from the W and Iron Flag. There was a point when the RZA summoned a roadie to come onstage and show the newest line of Wu-Endorsements, 'The Wu-Rim'. They played about 10 tracks complete before calling all the ladies on stage to dance while Ghostface did Cher Chez La Ghost. A girl I went with, climbed up there and grinded with the RZA. Thenwe got the fuck out of there. 10/10.
