Title: "Alice" & "Blood Money"

Well, Tom Waits did it again, well twice. Tom Just released two new CD's.'Alice' and 'Blood Money'. If don't have the change to buy both, at least pick up 'Alice' first, the better of the two.

Tom doesn't out do himself on these new ones -- but ever since his last release 'Mule Variations' came out, I feel Tom is becoming a serious softy, but in an old rusty coffee can sort of way.

The mystery and mystic behind his lyrics are still there on these new ones, but this sense of getting old, tired and depressed really come out on 'Alice' a very mournful, blue album. 'Alice' also has a jazz side to it that hasn't shown up in Tom's music since the mid 70's (checkout 'Night Hawks at the Diner' and 'Blue Valentine'). 'Alice' expresses all the beauty that is truly Waits.

'Blood Money' seems kind of like a rehash of 'Bone Machine' and 'Mule Variations' but in a dirty laundry sort of way.

You will thouroughly enjoy both CD's. Two more fine editions to the Wait's Collection.
